How long does a project typically take to complete?

This is very dependent on what the scope of the project is. With Covid-19, everything is delayed and we are transparent with our clients about this. Also, it is important that our clients understand that great design does not happen fast.

I see that you are a Certified Aging in Place Specialist with the National Association of Home Builders. What does that mean? Why is that important?

We are one of the select group of professionals nationwide to earn the Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist (CAPS) designation, identifying us with the skills and knowledge necessary to remodel or modify a home to meet the unique needs of the older population, disabled owners or their visitors.

The National Association of Home Builders, in partnership with the AARP and NAHB Research Center, created the CAPS program, which includes training and education on the technical, business management and customer service skills essential to compete in the fastest-growing segment of the residential remodeling industry — home modifications for aging-in-place. We have the specialized and advanced knowledge of being able to plan ahead in the design process for those who do not have an urgent need for accessible design and for those who may have urgent needs. Either way, we give you the tools be be able to live at home independently longer. If you are building or renovating your home, our skills are monumental in the process and ultimately save you money in the long run, by not having to make big, expensive changes to be able to stay in your home.

We are building a new home. When is the best time to bring in a interior designer?

As soon as possible! The earlier that you have a designer involved in your project, the better. This helps avoid any mistakes and keeps things on track. If you can have a designer on board before you even begin a project with a builder or architect, this is ideal.
